Geomatics Atlantic 2012 - Call for Abstracts
The Organizing Committee is proud to announce the 25th annual Geomatics Atlantic Conference (www.geomaticsatlantic.com). The conference will take place June 12th to 14th, 2012 at Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The conference will celebrate 25 years of successful geomatics conferences in Atlantic Canada while also focusing on several current topics including climate change, social media, geomatics in education, and infrastructure.
The Organizing Committee is seeking abstracts for the 2012 event. Submissions should include:
• Title, author's name, type of abstract (see three types, below), and contact information including title, employer, address, telephone, and e-mail address
• Identification of primary submitter (if different from the author and/or if there are multiple authors)
• Abstract (maximum: 300 words)
• Author's biographical information (no more than 150 words)
• List of any other publications / venues where the paper / presentation may have been previously published / presented
All submitted abstracts will be subject to peer review. There is limited space, so preference will be given to submitted abstracts that relate to the conference themes mentioned above. Notification of acceptance will be provided in March 2012.
Oral Presentation
Submit an abstract to give a 20-minute oral presentation. The conference sessions will reflect the themes mentioned above. Email your Oral Presentation abstract to dmaclean@gans.ca.
Workshop
Submit an abstract to organize a training session of three hours in length. Training workshops will be held on Tuesday, June 12th in the afternoon. Email your Workshop abstract to jmckenna@gans.ca.
Poster Presentation
Submit an abstract to present a poster on a specific topic. All posters will be on display for the entire conference. Email your Poster Presentation abstract to lbeazley@gans.ca.
Timeline
• March 23, 2012 - Abstract submissions due
• March 30, 2012 - Participants notified of their acceptance status
